When Subnautica first launched back in 2014, not a lot of players may have expected a survival game set entirely underwater to make waves. But over the years, Unknown Worlds’ adventure game has become one of the most beloved titles in the genre - and it’s now heading to mobile.
Ported by Playdigious, the same studio behind Dead Cells and Northgard mobile versions, Subnautica will officially launch on iOS and Android on July 8, 2025. This is a full-featured premium port of the original game, with no cut content and an added focus on performance and touchscreen accessibility.
Set on the alien planet 4546B, players explore the ocean’s depths, gather resources, build underwater bases, and uncover a slowly unfolding sci-fi mystery - all while managinag survival elements like oxygen, food, and pressure. The mobile version includes Survival, Creative, and Freedom modes, just like its PC and console counterparts.
Playdigious says it has reworked the interface for mobile, with adjustable HUD options and optimized controls for both phones and tablets. No gameplay videos have been shared yet, but the developer’s past work should be a solid indicator of a polished experience.
Subnautica will launch at $9.99, but pre-orders on the App Store and pre-registrations on Google Play are eligible for a 10% discount, making the final price $8.99 at launch.
