OnePlus is scheduled to announce two new smartphones in China on May 27. The two phones are the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition, joining the OnePlus Ace 5 and OnePlus Ace 5 Pro that were announced last December. Ahead of the launch, OnePlus has revealed that the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition will have the largest battery capacity ever in a OnePlus smartphone.
According to Li Jie, the president of OnePlus China, the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition will have a 7,100mAh battery capacity. This is larger than the 6,415mAh battery capacity of the OnePlus Ace 5 as well as the 6,260mAh battery capacity of the compact OnePlus 13T. On the other hand, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra is said to have a smaller 6,700mAh battery capacity.
Other features of the Ace 5 Pro Racing Edition include a 6.77-inch 1080p display, MediaTek's Dimensity 9400e processor, and up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It is also expected to have dual rear cameras that include a 50MP primary rear camera and a 2MP secondary camera while a 16MP camera sits in front for selfies and video calls.
On the other hand, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra will have a larger 6.83-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Dimensity 9400+ with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Like the Racing Edition, it will have a 50MP rear camera but swap the 2MP sensor for an 8MP sensor. The front-facing camera will be the same.
The Ace 5 Ultra is expected to launch outside China as the OnePlus Nord 5 but with slightly different specifications such as the less-powerful Dimensity 9400e and a larger 7,000mAh battery capacity.
