OnePlus is preparing to launch a new set of upper mid-range smartphones this month as an expansion of the Ace 5 series. With the Ace 5 Racing Edition and Ace 5 Extreme Edition now on the horizon, leakers like Digital Chat Station have turned their attention towards what OnePlus has planned for later this year.
For example, Digital Chat Station outlined early camera specifications for the OnePlus 15 a few days ago. Now, the leaker has shared expectations for some of the handset's other hardware, including its battery. For context, OnePlus replaced the OnePlus 12 last year with a successor that boasted an 11% larger battery capacity. According to Digital Chat Station, the battery capacity of OnePlus' next flagship is set to grow by an even greater margin for the release of the OnePlus 15.
Specifically, the leaker suggests that the next-generation flagship will debut with a battery whose capacity starts with a 7 to denote a capacity of at least 7,000 mAh. Even assuming 7,000 mAh on the nose yields a 16% increase over the OnePlus 13 (curr. $949 on Amazon). On top of that, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2-wielding smartphone is expected to land with flagship features like 100 W wired and wireless charging, a LIPO AMOLED Display and IP69 water resistance. Exactly when the OnePlus 15 will be available to order is unclear at the moment, though.
