Recently, there has been a wealth of information regarding what could potentially be the first flagship this year to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 – the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro. Now, well-known leaker Digital Chat Station has also revealed details about the follow-up to the Honor Magic 7 series, led by the Honor Magic 7 Pro. In a brief exclusive post on Weibo, the leaker claims that three models are currently in development for Honor Magic 8 lineup. It is unclear whether this rumoured lineup already accounts for the RSR Porsche Edition, though this seems doubtful.
The Honor Magic 8 series will reportedly include a 6.7-inch pro model, a 6.58-inch standard version and, surprisingly, a 6.3-inch mini variant. The smallest model is likely comparable in size to the Xiaomi 15 or Samsung Galaxy S25. For comparison, all Honor Magic 7 models are almost of the same size, sharing the same 6.78-inch screen diagonal. Whilst Digital Chat Station hasn’t provided extensive details on specifications, they did reveal which processors might power the respective phones.
The two larger Honor Magic 8 phones will apparently be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (model number: SM8850), set to launch in late September, whilst the supposed Honor Magic 8 Mini will likely feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. We expect the Honor Magic 8 series to debut in China this year, with a global release to follow only in 2026, though possibly before Mobile World Congress in early March. Recent reports also indicate that at least one device in the Magic 8 lineup may receive a new camera sensor.
