The Honor 400 Pro is the top model in the new Honor N-series that includes the Honor 400 and the Honor 400 Lite. Whether there will be an ultra model like last year's Honor 300 Ultra remains to be seen. Nevertheless, the Honor 400 Pro arrives as a stylish smartphone with flagship-killer specs and features.
The Honor 400 Pro has a design that makes it stand out from the competition. Its curved frame, while not unusual, is a breath of fresh air in a world populated with smartphones with flat frames. It also has a uniquely shaped camera island and a pill-shaped punch hole in its display. Honor says the phone isn't officially certified but has IP68 and IP69-level dust and water resistance. It also has SGS 5-stars drop and crush resistance.
The Honor 400 Pro has a 6.7-inch quad-curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2800 × 1280 resolution, and 5,000 nits of peak brightness. There's a pill-shaped punch hole in the display like that of the Honor 400 Lite (available on Amazon.de for €299.90) but it is home to two cameras. Honor only states the resolution of the main sensor which is a 50MP portrait selfie camera. Our guess is that it is a 2MP depth sensor like that of the Honor 200 Pro.
Like the standard Honor 400, the pro model also has several display protection features including 3,840Hz PWM dimming, ultra dark mode, AI circadian night display, sunlight display enhancement, motion sickness relief, and low blue light.
The Honor 400 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, an upgrade over the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 of the Honor 200 Pro. It has 12GB of RAM and the option of 256GB or 512GB of non-expandable storage. The camera island houses a 200MP f/1.9 1/1.4'' sensor with OIS, a 50MP Sony IMX856 AI telephoto camera with OIS, and a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle camera that can shoot macro photos.
There are several AI camera and editing features such as an AI eraser for objects, people, and reflections; AI upscaling, AI cutout, AI image to video, AI motion sensing capture, film simulation, Harcourt portrait mode, HD moving photo, and moving photo collage which stitches multiple photos into a dynamic video. It also supports sharing of live photos with other Android smartphones and iPhones.
The Honor 400 Pro has a 5,300mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 100W wired Honor SuperCharge and 50W wireless Honor SuperCharge. While the battery capacity is a tiny bit larger than that of the Honor 200 Pro, the wireless charging has been significantly reduced from 66W.
Like the Honor 400, the pro model also comes with MagicOS 9 based on Android 15, and it will receive 6 years of Android OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates. The Honor 400 Pro also has WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual SIM support.
The Honor 400 Pro is available today in Midnight Black and Lunar Grey with a starting price of £699.99 in the UK and €799 in Europe. In the UK, early birds will receive a free Honor Choice Earbuds Clip and Honor SuperCharge 100W adapter. It will also provide a £150 voucher code (A400PUK150) and a one-time free screen replacement (within 180 days).
