MediaTek Dimensity 9500
The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 is a flagship processor (SoC) for expensive Android phones and tablets that's set to debut in Q2 or Q3 2025. From what we know so far, the SoC features 2 Cortex-X930-based cores codenamed Travis running at up to 4 GHz along with 6 Cortex-A730-based cores codenamed Gelas that probably run at well below 3 GHz. The 2 + 6 cores scheme is very reminiscent of Apple's SoCs whereas the 9400 has 4 + 3 + 1 cores (Dimensity 9300: 4 + 4 cores).
Needless to say, the MediaTek chip is expected to come equipped with all the modern technologies such as a dedicated NPU, Wi-Fi 7, 5G and satellite Internet. It's is rumored to have SME (Scalable Matrix Extension) support. There is no information on which Immortalis series GPU the 9500 will have, as of Feb 2025.
Rumors indicate the SoC will be built with the TSMC N3P process rather than the more modern 2-nanometer alternatives.
Its short-term power consumption figures will probably often go above 10 W depending on the phone/tablet.
