Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is a high-end SoC (System-on-a-Chip) for smartphones that was unveiled in September 2026. It integrates eight fourth-generation Oryon cores: two Prime cores running at up to 5 GHz and six Performance cores running at up to 4 GHz. All CPU cores share 16 MB of L2 cache, known as Oryon FlexCache.
Compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm promises 13 % higher CPU performance. Energy efficiency is said to improve by up to 37 %, depending on the application.
The integrated Adreno GPU runs at up to 1.45 GHz and has 18 MB of graphics memory. According to the manufacturer, graphics performance increases by 44 %. Unlike the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, the Extreme variant offers additional matrix compute units for AI upscaling and frame generation.
LPDDR5X-10600, LPDDR6-10600 and UFS 5.0 storage are supported. The integrated X105 5G modem theoretically achieves download speeds of up to 14.8 Gbit/s and upload speeds of up to 4.2 Gbit/s.
The Hexagon NPU offers a new element accelerator and 50 % more dedicated memory than the Elite variant. The Spectra image processor supports video recording at up to 8K at 60 fps or 4K at 240 fps, as well as H.266/VVC.
The chip is manufactured using a 2 nm process, presumably TSMC's N2P.
