The Xiaomi 18 series appears to be a sweeping attack on the competition with their dual 200 megapixel cameras, for instance the Vivo X300 Ultra or the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. Kartikey Singh, a leaker who is often quite well-informed about the Xiaomi ecosystem is once again emphasizing on X that even the entry-level Xiaomi 18 model will feature two such high-resolution sensors.
According to his information, the base Xiaomi 18 model will already feature a 200-megapixel main camera, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The Xiaomi 18 Pro, with a screen size of about 6.4 inches, is expected to significantly enhance the main camera’s dynamic by using LOFIC technology. The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will take it a step further with the all new and improved LOFIC 3.0 generation.
Xiaomi 18 Ultra to get first 200-megapixel 1-inch sensor
Regarding the Xiaomi 17 Ultra successor, Digital Chat Station recently confirmed on Weibo that development was put on hold some time ago, though the project isn’t quite dead yet. Specifically, the camera technology based on a 200-megapixel sensor in a 1-inch format is reportedly still in development.

However, the new camera technology will come with a trade off — higher prices. A trend that currently seems to apply to every manufacturer. According to Kartikey Singh, prices are expected to rise by about 10 percent, which means the Xiaomi 18 Pro could reach roughly the same price level as the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, and the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could reach Xiaomi 17 Ultra level—at least in China. In Europe, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is by far the most affordable of the three Chinese ultra-smartphone flagships released this year and is already available on Amazon in Germany for around 1,300 euros (US$ 1,480) By 2027, this price gap to the Vivo X300 Ultra will likely close.

Meanwhile, Digital Chat Station reveals a few more details about the specs of the smaller Xiaomi 18 Pro. According to his information, the Xiaomi 18 Pro will not feature the same display technology as the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The display size increases slightly from 6.3 inches to 6.4 inches while the bezels and sharpness are said to be top-notch, as is the 2nm Snapdragon chipset. The leaker also hints at a minimalist new design and a larger battery with 100-watt fast charging, wireless charging as well as a fully waterproof body.
