Massive Apple leak shows iPhone 18 Pro drop-test video, new Dynamic Island and more

Apple Insider reported a week ago that confidential data had been stolen from an Indian factory belonging to an Apple supplier named Tata Electronics. It has since become clear that this data actually includes some highly sensitive information and images. Evan Blass, the U.S. leaker who has returned from retirement A person using the @evleaks handle on X posted two videos from the tata breach, apparently showing the iPhone 18 Pro undergoing a drop test; however both of these videos have already been removed from X as of this writing, the account has been suspended as well (see update below).
iPhone 18 Pro drop-test videos online
As is often the case, however, both videos were saved and reshared by other X users. We've embedded both videos directly below. They show the expected iPhone 18 Pro design in a grey color with a camera module similar to that of the iPhone 17 Pro. The dual-tone design on the back has apparently been refined by Apple as far as we can see. It now seems less conspicuous, at least in this color option. The new iPhone apparently survives the drop, though the drop height here is likely only a few centimetres.
More photos of the iPhone 18 Pro's interior
In addition to these videos, more and more photos of the interior of the iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max are also surfacing, such as this image of the mainboard design. On the last day of June, teardown images were also found online showing some rumored features and changes compared to the iPhone 17 Pro, for instance a larger cooling surface on the vapor chamber and the main reason for the rumored smaller Dynamic Island.
New True Depth camera for the iPhone 18 Pro
As the photos below suggest, the infrared emitter has been moved out of the Face ID camera module and is now located at the top left. This is the main reason why the display cutout on the iPhone 18 Pro is likely to be smaller than previously. The X-ray images also provide a complete look inside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max which may bring further details to light in the coming days—months before the official launch date in September.
Apple C2 Modem documents apparently part of the 200,000 leaked files
Currently both Reuters and Apple Insider are reporting on some additional intriguing aspects of the Tata leak. According to these reports, 630 GB of data were stolen by hackers. Apparently, the files contain not only information on the iPhone 18 Pro and Apple A20 but also details about the new Apple C2 modem, which is set to replace Qualcomm's modems in the Pro iPhones for the first time. The documents have been verified as authentic by Apple Insider. Also intriguing are references to the methods Apple used to prevent design leaks in the past. For example, ahead of the iPhone 17 Pro launch, iPhone packaging featuring fake M4 iPad Pro camera designs were deliberately produced. According to the analysis by Apple Insider, the massive data leak is unlikely to have major consequences for Apple though, despite its size. For instance, some of the files circulating on the dark web appear to have been deliberately redacted and seem to refer primarily to earlier iPhone models. In any case, at least for now, there are still no leaked images regarding the iPhone Ultra or the 2027 anniversary iPhones— presumably named iPhone 20 Pro.
Update: Evan Blass is not Evan Blass
The real Evan Blass has spoken out in response to the leaks and emphasized that the new @evleaks account mentioned above does not belong to him. So it appears to be a fan account or an imposter. Evan also made it clear that he has nothing to do with the Tata/iPhone leak, which of course doesn’t necessarily mean that the two videos above aren’t authentic.
