Apple is said to be working on four major camera upgrades for the next-generation Apple iPhones, which could enable the company to catch up with flagships such as the Vivo X300 Ultra and the Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max.

The usually extremely reliable leaker Digital Chat Station has once again commented on the camera upgrades that the Apple iPhone will receive over the next few years. With this new post, the leaker confirms earlier rumors, but also provides new details.

As already stated in earlier rumors, the main camera of the Apple iPhone 18 Pro will have a variable aperture, which means that the aperture can be partially closed to achieve a greater depth of field. This is useful, for example, to ensure that everyone is in focus when taking group photos. The iPhone 19 Pro or iPhone 20 Pro will also have a main camera with a larger sensor - the 1/1.28-inch sensor of the iPhone 17 Pro ($1,134 on Amazon) will be replaced by a 1/1.12-inch sensor.

According to Digital Chat Station, Apple is also working on a camera based on a 200 megapixel sensor, although the leaker states that this sensor will be used in the telephoto camera instead of the main camera. What is new is the information that Apple is to develop an ultra-wide-angle camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) - so far, only the main and telephoto cameras have a stabilized lens. OIS makes it possible to take sharp photos with a longer exposure time, resulting in better photos in low light.
