Apple's first Ultras are coming: 20 new products in 2026–2027 according to Bloomberg

2026, and especially the anniversary year 2027, will be particularly exciting for Apple fans, who can look forward to an especially large number of new products in the first months under the new Apple CEO John Ternus. Much of what Mark Gurman currently mentions in his weekly Power On newsletter has already been mentioned once or twice in the past. His list of upcoming Apple products is, of course, not entirely complete, but it still provides an up-to-date overview of the key areas Apple is likely to focus on in the nearly 16 months from September 2026 onward.
New iPhones
Everything starts, as it does every year, at the beginning of the school year in September—though this time with a strategic twist. Only iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, as well as Apple’s first foldable—interestingly, also referred to as the iPhone Ultra by the Bloomberg analyst—are expected to be unveiled this year. Based on a new Apple A20 Pro chip, manufactured for the first time using TSMC’s 2nm process, the 2026 Pro iPhones are expected to bring, above all, a variable camera aperture and a smaller Dynamic Island.
At the beginning of 2027 the iPhone Air 2, presumably equipped with a dual-camera system, is expected to launch based on an Apple A20 chip which will also come in the form of an iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e in the first quarter of 2027. From today’s perspective, September 2027 is shaping up to be particularly exciting, as it is likely to bring us a completely new iPhone look with a seemingly borderless “Liquid Glass hardware design” to mark the iPhone’s 20th anniversary. An iPhone 19 Pro will likely be skipped; instead, we can expect the iPhone 20 Pro and iPhone 20 Pro Max, possibly in the form of an iPhone XX.
Apple Watches
Not even Mark Gurman currently dares to describe what the Apple Watches will look like in 2027, but it is already quite clear what smartwatch we can expect in 2026. According to previous leaks, the Apple Watch Series 12 will get a faster S11 chip as well as Touch ID. A new Apple Watch Ultra 4 —apparently indeed with a new design—is also on the launch schedule for September.
New AI iPads
Apple’s more affordable tablets are set to become compatible with Apple Intelligence in the fall of 2026. The iPad 12 is expected with an Apple A18 or Apple A19 chip, while the smaller iPad Mini 8 is likely to make the leap to the Apple A19 Pro or Apple A20 Pro—including a new OLED display and a water-resistant body.
Macs and Apple M6
The Bloomberg analyst has already revealed some details about the next Apple Macs and MacBooks in the past, which are expected in 2026 and early 2027, respectively. These include a new Mac Studio workstation with Apple M5 Max and M6 Ultra, a new Mac mini based on Apple M5 and M5 Pro, and a new iMac with an M5 chip. Particularly exciting, however, is the MacBook Pro redesign that has been rumored for years and is actually scheduled for late 2026 or early 2027. In combination with the new Apple M6 generation, an OLED touchscreen with Dynamic Island is set to appear for the first time in a thinner enclosure. Whether the name MacBook Ultra —which has surfaced several times—will prove accurate, analogous to the iPhone Ultra, remains to be seen.
AI Gadgets and More
AI will also become increasingly noticeable at Apple in the form of special gadgets, expected as glasses, pendants, and new AirPods with built-in cameras. The latter are likely to be the first to arrive, with the smart Apple Glasses set to follow in 2027. Also on the launch schedule is a smart tabletop robot, although it might not actually move into the Apple Smart Home until 2028. In addition to a Smart Home Hub, a new Apple TV as well as a HomePod and HomePod Mini are also expected over the next few months.
