Bloomberg reveals iPhone 17e features and price as iPad 12, iPad Air 8 and new Macs will launch soon

Google’s entry-level phone of 2026, the Pixel 10a, already has an official launch date but probably won’t offer many notable upgrades aside from four new color variants. In contrast, Apple seems to be treating the successor to the iPhone 16e to several improvements. This has now been confirmed by the usually reliable Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter. Accordingly, the iPhone 17e won’t just get an upgrade to the Apple A19 chipset, the affordable Apple smartphone is also set to support MagSafe for magnetic wireless charging.

The phone will also sport the Apple C1X modem and the Apple N1 chip for Bluetooth, WiFi and Thread connectivity. Gurman further claims that the base price will remain at $599 in the US, despite the skyrocketing memory prices. Two new iPads are also in the works, namely the successor to the iPad 11 with the Apple A18 SoC as well as the new iPad Air 8 that’s supposedly powered by the Apple M4. Both tablets are only expected to get a minor spec bump, so there’s no new design. That said, the iPad Mini 8 will probably receive an OLED screen later this year.

The analyst still doesn’t have a specific launch date for these new Apple products, but he also mentions a few Macs that are also set to launch "soon". Specifically, the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro (from $1,449 on Amazon) and the MacBook Air will likely be upgraded to Apple M5. A new Mac Studio desktop computer is also on the way, but it won’t debut at the spring launch event. Last but not least, Gurman mentions a new Studio Display that is said to look quite similar to the current version. The new Mac Mini, 13-inch MacBook with an iPhone processor are likely to arrive later this year.
