Oppo K14x launches as a rival to the Samsung Galaxy F70e

Oppo has announced the K14x as its latest budget Android smartphone for the Indian market, and its specs put it in direct competition with the newly-launched Samsung Galaxy F70e.
Like the Galaxy F70e, the Oppo K14x has an HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is 6.75-inches in size with a peak brightness of 1,125 nits, and features glove support and an outdoor mode that boosts visibility.
Like Samsung, Oppo has opted for not just the same Dimensity 6300 processor, but even offers it in the same RAM and storage configurations. Buyers will be able to choose from either a 4GB RAM or 6GB RAM variant, both of which have 128GB of expandable storage.
The Oppo K14x has dual rear cameras too made up of a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. There's also a 5MP camera in front for selfies and video calling. The phone also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 5, dual SIM, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, all of which are also present on the Galaxy F70e.
Where the Oppo K14x has the upper hand is in the IP rating, battery capacity, and fast charging. Unlike its rival which has an IP54 rating, the K14x is rated IP64 for dust and water resistance. Its 6500mAh battery also charges at 45W (charger included), whereas the Galaxy F70e has a smaller 6,000mAh battery that charges at 25W and doesn't come bundled with a charger.
The Oppo K14x ships with ColorOS 15 which is based on Android 15 which Oppo claims will remain fast and responsive for up to 48 months. The Galaxy F70e runs One UI 8 based on Android 16, and while Oppo doesn't say how many years of software updates the K14x will receive, Samsung promises 6 years of Android upgrades and security updates.
The Oppo K14x is available in Icy Blue and Prism Violet, both of which have a geometric pattern. Pricing starts at ₹14,999 ₹14,999 (~$165/€139) for the 4GB RAM model and goes up to ₹16,999 ₹14,999 (~$187/€157) for the 6GB RAM variant. Samsung, on the other hand, offers the Galaxy F70e for ₹2,000 ($22/€19) less for both variants. Oppo has begun accepting pre-orders on its website with shipping scheduled to begin on February 16.
