Samsung unveils Galaxy F70e with leather finish and 6 years of updates

Samsung has expanded its Indian-made Galaxy F-series with the addition of a new model. Called the Galaxy F70e, the smartphone has a leather back, joining Samsung's incredibly short list of devices with a leather finish.
Don't be fooled by the high number, the Galaxy F70e is a budget smartphone based on its specs and price. It has a 6.7-inch LCD panel with an HD+ (1600 × 720) resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The spec sheet also mentions the display has a peak brightness of 800 nits.
Powering the Galaxy F70e is a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Storage is 128GB across both RAM variants, but a microSD card slot allows users to add up to 2TB of extra storage. For its cameras, the F70e has an 8MP front-facing camera while the rear houses a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth camera.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy F70e with a 6,000mAh battery that it claims should provide up to 2 days of use on a single charge. There's support for 25W fast wired charging, but you will have to provide your own charger.
It also has an IP54 dust and water resistance rating, dual nano hybrid SIM slot, an audio jack, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.4 and support for 12 5G bands. The Galaxy F70e ships with One UI 8 based on Android 16, and Samsung says the phone will receive 6 years of OS upgrades and security updates.
Available in Limelight Green and Spotlight Blue, the Galaxy F70e is priced at ₹12,999 (~$143/€120) for the 4GB RAM version and ₹14,999 (~$165/€139) for the 6GB RAM version. Interested buyers will be able to purchase it on Samsung's website, Flipkart, and partner retail stores starting on February 17 at 12 PM.
