Samsung selects 10 global Solve for Tomorrow winners

Samsung has announced the official selection of 10 global Solve for Tomorrow Ambassador teams, tying the program to its Olympic partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and activities around Milano Cortina 2026.
A Milan program timed around Milano Cortina 2026
Samsung says the announcement was made in Milan, with the ambassador program being held in conjunction with the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The company describes a three-day schedule running Feb. 8–10, including an appointment ceremony, a solution exhibition, and networking.
The company says the ambassadors were chosen from winners of regional Solve for Tomorrow competitions, with final picks made through a joint Samsung + IOC evaluation that considers innovation, scalability, and social impact.
Funding plus up to two years of support
Samsung says each selected team will receive funding and up to two years of continued support aimed at helping move prototypes toward commercially viable products. For the Sport & Tech category, Samsung says support will be provided jointly with the IOC.
The 10 projects: Sport & Tech and Environment
Samsung splits the 10 teams into two categories—Sport & Tech and Environment—with five selections in each.
On the Sport & Tech side, Samsung highlights projects like Run Sight, a wearable AI concept designed to help visually impaired users run more safely by detecting lanes and obstacles, and Curastep, sensor-equipped footwear intended to detect early blister risk in people with diabetes. The list also includes Poseidon (a wristband-based vibration alert system for visually impaired swimmers), TeamUp (an AI-based platform for connecting people to local sports communities), and Storm Shield (a protective headband concept meant to shield hearing aids during activity).
In the Environment category, Samsung’s selection includes Liova, a kit concept that repurposes discarded smartphone batteries into portable power banks, and Oilsorb, a reusable wool-based oil absorption approach paired with drone use for marine spill response. The other teams include Furen Makers (a brainwave-controlled wheelchair concept), Paraspeak (a cloud AI speech-clarification concept), and Aqua-Gel (an AI-enabled smart bandage concept for wound monitoring).
What happens next
Samsung says the ambassador teams will showcase their solutions on Feb. 9 at Smart City Lab in Milan, followed by an innovation workshop led by the IOC’s Olympism365 Innovation Hub. On Feb. 10, Samsung says the teams will take part in additional official activities and visit the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Village.
