Anbernic RG Vita revealed as new retro gaming handheld incapable of most PS Vita emulation

Anbernic has just shared a first look at what its RG Vita handheld is capable of. Additionally, the company finally confirmed additional details about the same device. A full specification sheet escapes official teasers for now, though.
In the meantime, The Phawx has now revealed all RG Vita hardware specifications in his review video. Embedded below, the details are visible from around 35 seconds onwards. In summary, the RG Vita will ship with the following hardware:
- 5.46-inch IPS display, 1,280 x 720 pixels
- Unisoc Tiger T618 chipset
- 3 GB RAM/64 GB eMCP storage/2 TB microSD card expansion
- 5,000 mAh battery
- Bluetooth 5/WiFi 5 connectivity
- Hall effect joysticks
- Stereo speakers
- 6-axis gyroscope
Surprisingly, the RG Vita runs Android 12. By contrast, December's RG477V runs Android 14 out of the box (curr. $269.99 on Amazon). Also, The Phawx demonstrates that the RG Vita is not powerful enough to emulate PS Vita games for the most part. While Gravity Rush is playable, other popular games like Killzone: Mercenary and Uncharted: Golden Abyss are unplayable.
In comparison, the RG Vita can handle GameCube, Saturn, PSP and PlayStation 2 emulation with some limitations. Pricing and a release date remain unknown for now. Please see The Phawx's video below for more details.
