Anbernic RG Vita hands-on video reveals key specs and PS2 emulation capability

After announcing a new controller, Anbernic has unveiled two new handhelds that are based on the PlayStation Vita. However, it has kept the technical details of the two devices under wraps until now, as a new video showing the Anbernic RG Vita in action has revealed some of the handheld's specifications.
According to the video description, the Anbernic RG Vita will have a 5.46-inch IPS touchscreen display. The screen's resolution is stated to be 1280 × 720. Anbernic has also revealed that the RG Vita has Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. There's also an audio jack and a MicroSD card slot at the bottom while the top is where the USB-C port is. Unfortunately, the rest of the specs have not been disclosed.
The video also shows the RG Vita running different games made for various consoles. Anbernic says the RG Vita can emulate several consoles including the PS Vita, PS2, PSP, 3DS, Wii, PS1, SEGA Saturn, Nintendo 64, GBA, GBC, and more. It will also be able to play Android games such as Genshin Impact and Honor of Kings.
There's also support for game streaming as the video shows a user streaming Forza Horizon 5 from a PC, and users can cast the RG Vita to a larger display and connect multiple controllers for multiplayer games.
We expect more details of the RG Vita and its sibling, the RG Vita Pro, will be unveiled in due time. However, it is not expected that they will be available to buy until after the Chinese New Year holidays. If you can't wait, you can purchase the Anbernic RG477V announced last December for $269.99 on Amazon.
