Sony Xperia Play-style Ayaneo Pocket Play gets more specs revealed as launch nears

Ayaneo is working on a couple of new devices, and the Xperia Play-inspired Pocket Play is one of them. This gaming phone resides in the brand's Remake series, and it was initially introduced in early December 2025. Since then, the company has shared the SoC and display details, and recent teasers have revealed more about the smartphone.

One of the newly revealed aspects of the gaming phone is that it will be available in three colors. Previously, Ayaneo showcased the Pocket Play in black and white colorways. Now, the company has officially showcased a sleek red color option.

The company has further shared that the Pocket Play has an 0815 X-axis linear motor, which has four vibration modes, and it promises to offer immersive haptic feedback. As Ayaneo previously revealed, the gaming phone is powered by the Dimensity 9300, a fairly disappointing chipset choice for the device.

However, Ayaneo has newly shared that the SoC is paired with a performance-focused air cooler. This cooling setup also promises to keep heat away from the grip area, ensuring a comfortable gaming experience.

Among the other newly shared specs is a USB 3.2 Gen Type-C port with DisplayPort 1.4 support. For wireless connections, besides the SIM slot, the gaming phone has WiFi and Bluetooth 5, and users can expand the storage of the Pocket Play through the dedicated microSD card slot (512 GB Samsung P9 curr. $79.99 on Amazon).

For those who missed the last announcements, Ayaneo has previously revealed that the Pocket Play will sport a 6.8-inch OLED display with a 2400x1080 pixels resolution and 165 Hz refresh rate. The gaming phone features slide-out controls with touchpads that can act like virtual joysticks. Its launch date and pricing details are yet to be shared by the company, but these pieces of info should emerge soon.
