Xiaomi has not replaced the Xiaomi 15 Ultra or the smaller Xiaomi 15 globally yet (curr. $819 on Amazon). However, the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are already being sold in China. Thus, leakers like Digital Chat Station have now diverted their attention to what is to come from Xiaomi 17 series successors.
Previously, Digital Chat Station described potential camera upgrades heading to the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Now, they have indicated that all 6.3-inch variants are set to receive upgrades beyond the 50 MP cameras found in the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Pro. Hence, it seems that Xiaomi's entry-level flagship will benefit from dual 200 MP cameras.
Writing on Weibo, the leaker claims to have received exclusive information that Xiaomi is 'evaluating' this upgrade. As a result, there is every chance that future Xiaomi 18 and Xiaomi 18 Pro prototypes could depart with other camera sensors.
Nonetheless, all Xiaomi 18 flagships will ship Leica camera tunings. Currently, Xiaomi is expected to launch the Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in China between September and October. In the meantime, the company should launch the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra globally before the end of February.
