Xiaomi 17: New leak describes early global release for compact flagship and Xiaomi 17 Ultra

Leaker Yogesh Brar has weighed in on Xiaomi's global release plans for the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra. For context, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 17 last September in China alongside the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has been available in the company's home market since the end of September.
Until now, it had been assumed that global versions of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and its smaller sibling would debut during MWC in Barcelona, just like the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 before them (curr. $822 on Amazon). However, recent leaks indicated that the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra could arrive sooner than previously expected. For instance, the former turned up on a German retailer last week.
According to Brar, Xiaomi will launch both flagships 'ahead of MWC'. Although they have not provided a specific date, they add that the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi will receive a global release by February 28. Whether all three smartphones arrive simultaneously remains to be seen at this point, though. Reportedly, an Indian launch will occur 'towards early March'. Neither the Xiaomi 17 Pro nor the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max are set to receive global releases, though.
