Leak suggests upcoming Poco Ultra phone will upgrade to 200 MP camera

The Xiaomi 18 series is expected to bring many upgrades, and as Digital Chat Station recently reported, 200 MP cameras will be one of them. It seems that the company will bring the same upgrade to the upcoming Redmi K100 series.

More specifically, Smart Pikachu shared in a new report that Xiaomi is working to make the upcoming Redmi K100 series have a better position among the other high-end devices. This upcoming series is expected to introduce three phones first: K100, K100 Pro, and K100 Pro Max.

Among the three, it's likely that only the Redmi K100 Pro Max will feature a 200 MP camera. However, it's unclear whether this will be a periscope or a primary sensor.

For reference, the Redmi K90 Pro Max (12/256 GB curr. $670.55 on TradingShenzhen), which launched as the Poco F8 Ultra in the global market, has a triple 50 MP camera setup. It's also the first Redmi phone to feature a periscope telephoto lens, a highlighted feature of the smartphone.

Getting back to the Redmi K100 series, the Pro Max variant of the lineup is expected to be rebranded as the Poco F9 Ultra. This phone will also likely feature performance-focused hardware, including the next-gen flagship SoC from Qualcomm and a large battery. The probable launch timeline for the Redmi K100 lineup in China is September 2026, and more details about the series could emerge in the coming days.
