New leak hints at Xiaomi 18 Pro Max’s upgraded display

Xiaomi is working on its next series of flagships, the Xiaomi 18, said to include the Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro, Pro Max, and Ultra variants. The company seems to be sticking with the Apple-style naming convention once again. While quite a bit has been rumored about the upcoming series, a new leak has hinted at some display specifications for what is believed to be the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.
Digital Chat Station shared the information on Weibo claiming that a phone with a 6.9-inch LIPO flat display, narrow bezels on all four sides, and support for BT.2020 color gamut, is in the works. This phone is believed to be the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, as per the previous screen size leaks as well as the commenters. It will be powered by the 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 SoC and as per the leaker, will feature an upgraded display compared to the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.
An earlier leak suggested the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will come with a 2K 120 Hz LTPO OLED panel, but the new leak claims an LIPO panel instead. The resolution and refresh rate may still be the same.
The rumored phone is said to carry even slimmer bezels than its predecessor and also be capable of dropping brightness down to 1-nit. These features are possible thanks to a new substrate. Furthermore, the leaker adds that this phone will come with a new hardware feature, but hasn’t mentioned what exactly. Commenters suspect it will be a Galaxy S26 Ultra like Privacy Display, but that’s already been rumored previously, so it could be something else.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max are shaping up to be feature packed, powerful offerings yet again. They are said to carry dual-200 MP cameras and massive batteries that are over 7,000 mAh. The phones will likely have variants both with and without the secondary display at the back.
