Sony has shared its latest financial results for the three months ended on December 31, 2025, and the report gives a clear look at how the PlayStation 5 is performing worldwide. While hardware shipments slowed slightly compared to last year, the console continues to move closer to a major milestone.

According to the report, Sony shipped 8 million PlayStation 5 units during the three-month period. This is down by 1.5 million units compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. However, these shipments were enough to push total worldwide PS5 units shipped to 92.2 million as of December 31, 2025.

Software sales also saw an increase. Combined software sales for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 reached 97.2 million units during the three months. This is an increase of 1.3 million units compared to the same period last year. First-party titles made up 13.2 million of those sales, which is up 1.6 million year over year. Sony also revealed that 76% of all software sales during the quarter were full-game digital downloads, which is a 2% increase compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.

The company also reported 132 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network as of December 31, 2025. That number is up by three million compared to the same period last fiscal year.
