PS3 emulator RPCS3 nears milestone with most PlayStation 3 games now at least 'Ingame'

PlayStation 3 emulator RPCS3 has been receiving regular updates, and with each, the emulation tool becomes more stable in running PS3 games. Of course, not all the titles are perfectly playable yet, as there are some that boot but show nothing on screen, while some can get into the menus but not get past them.
The latest compatibility update, however, brings some good news. Per the developers, the emulator is now closer than ever to getting all the PS3 games at least into the "Ingame" status. For reference, RPCS3 has a compatibility chart that classifies titles in five key categories.
Among them, the "Ingame" category is for those games that can boot, get past the menus, but can't be finished or played properly due to glitches or performance issues. As of the latest update, RPCS3 marks 73.06% of the PlayStation 3 library as "Playable," while 25.12% have reached the "Ingame" status.
That means RPCS3 can get 98.18% of PS3 games to at least get past the menus, which is quite the achievement. The devs note that only 62 PlayStation 3 games are currently categorized under the "Intro" tag. To fill you in, this classification is for the titles that can be booted but can't be played as they don't make it past the menus.
Of the mentioned 62 games, 46 are PlayStation Move titles, which suggests that motion control implementation is a key barrier for full compatibility (PlayStation-compatible Nacon Revolution 5 Pro controller curr. $140.98 on Amazon). When these titles are addressed, RPCS3 would be closer to what the community describes as "Project Complete" status. For those who are interested in trying the emulator, it's available to download on the official page.
