Vampire’s Fall 2 launched as a free-to-play title on Steam on February 13.
Vampire’s Fall 2 is aimed primarily at fans of classic role-playing games. It combines turn-based combat from an isometric perspective with a dark, atmospheric fantasy setting. The title launched on February 13 and is free to play on Steam.

Set in a dark fantasy world ruled by a vampiric elite, Vampire’s Fall 2 portrays humans as either oppressed or kept as a source of food. Players begin as ordinary mortals but soon become vampires themselves. This transformation unlocks a range of new abilities and grants access to four distinct skill trees: Fury, Control, Vitality and Deception. At the heart of the story lies a conflict between loyalty and rebellion, shaping whether the existing order is upheld or ultimately challenged.

In terms of gameplay, Vampire’s Fall 2 follows the tradition of classic turn-based 2D RPGs. The combat system rewards careful planning, smart resource management and the well-timed use of special abilities. Nine weapon types and random bonus attributes gained upon leveling up add clear build variety. Characters can be tailored for offense, defense or a balanced approach, depending on personal playstyle. An optional PvP mode is also included, with cross-platform support across PC, Android and iOS.

Vampire’s Fall 2 was developed by Swedish studio Early Morning and launched on February 13. On Steam, the RPG currently holds an 85% positive rating based on 124 user reviews. Players particularly praise the deliberate pace of combat, the moody gothic atmosphere and the wide range of character builds. At the same time, the game’s monetization has drawn criticism. Several reviews mention aggressive microtransactions, loot box elements and paid inventory slots. Some players also point to balance issues in PvP and an endgame that feels overly grind-heavy.

The game may still be worth a look, especially for fans of classic role-playing titles, as it is free to play on Steam. Compatibility with the Steam Deck (currently available on Amazon for $1.300) is listed as “Unknown.” However, the predecessor’s “Verified” status and the modest system requirements suggest that Vampire’s Fall 2 could receive a favorable Steam Deck rating from Valve.
