Solid Snake and Sam Fisher unite in Operation Silent Hunt, bringing two stealth legends into one tactical arena. Operation Silent Hunt will bring Metal Gear’s signature intel and espionage based gameplay into Rainbow Six Siege during a full-season collaboration with Konami.

According to Ubisoft, Solid Snake will be a permanent, playable operator when the season launches, and the season battle pass will instantly unlock him while also packing in Metal Gear Solid-themed cosmetics, such as a Gray Fox skin for Jackal, a Psycho Mantis outfit for Smoke, and an Ash skin for Meryl. Later in the season, a limited-time [REDACTED] event will add more MGS content and explicitly set up a team-up between Snake and another stealth icon: Zero, aka Sam Fisher. Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell fans will get to play as both legends in the same setting.

Solid Snake is voiced beautifully once more by David Hayter. His voice can be enjoyed all throughout the reveal cinematic for the character and event.

Snake’s headline tool is the Soliton Radar Mk. III, a handheld recon device that displays the floorplan of nearby areas, including connected staircases, while flagging soft surfaces with distinct line/striped indicators. It also shifts between “all clear,” active default-camera surveillance, and enemy-alert states. Flipping on precision mode will show detected enemies’ position icons and vision cones, though it runs on limited charges with a cooldown, and it actually alerts defenders that they’ve been detected for balance.

Thankfully, counterplay is baked in. Defenders receive a notification when they’re pinged, and deception tools can throw the radar off: Alibi’s Prisma decoys can appear like real Operators, Vigil can hide, and Mute can disrupt the device’s detection within jammer range, for example. It’s strong intel, but it’s not “free wins,” and it won’t cover every camera type, either.

His On-Site Procurement (OSP) ability leans into improvisation: Snake can eventually hold up to five different secondary gadget types, but he starts with one item and has to loot utility pouches from eliminated operators to fill or restock those slots. That flexibility should make him unpredictable, and it’ll reward players who don’t get stuck on one plan.

Thankfully, Ubisoft and Konami won’t keep us waiting too long before dropping the update. Operation Silent Hunt goes live on March 3rd, 2026. More info on the updates coming alongside the crossover can be found inside Ubisoft’s post.
