Deal | Steam deal: Survival MMO with over 1.3 million Very Positive reviews is now 50% off

Critically acclaimed survival game — Rust — is currently on sale on Steam at $19.99, representing a 50% drop from the official price tag of $39.99. This time-limited deal is set to expire on February 19.
Developed and published by Facepunch Studios, Rust was launched on February 8, 2018, following five years in the early access stage. This game throws you onto an island alongside hundreds of other players. Armed with a rock and a torch, your main goal is to survive, as everything around you will be looking to end you: cold, radiation, animals, fellow players, NPCs, and more.
You use the rock to gather resources around the map from fixed resource-spawn points. There are also high-value resources in some hot spots on the map; going for these resources increases the risk of PvP confrontations and, consequently, the risk of death. Death in Rust means a sudden jump back to square one — rock and torch.
Another game mechanic that encourages PvP brawls is airdrops, which can be player-initiated or random. Airdrops can be seen from long distances and contain valuable resources, thereby drawing a lot of attention from the players.
Beyond scavenging, you can craft items you need as long as you meet the requirements, which include raw materials and research. Rust also incorporates base building and defense, offering additional protection in the harsh world.
Rust also features various maps and three major biomes: arctic, temperate, and arid, with the biomes further divided into different categories, each with its unique challenges and setting. At scheduled intervals, progress resets for every player, and the struggle begins all anew.
Despite being an instant hit, Rust received a healthy dose of criticism while in early access. Even now, it is still criticized for being too harsh for beginners and for the constant need to grind for resources. Review-wise, it currently has about 1.33 million Steam reviews, and 87% of these reviews are positive.
Rust does periodically get a 50% discount, so there is no rush to buy in right away. Also, all the DLCs for the game are also on sale right now.
