Deal | Steam: Remake of a PS2 JRPG classic (94% positive) at its lowest price yet

Persona 3 Reload takes place on Tatsumi Port Island, a modern coastal town in Japan with a hidden dark side. By day, players attend Gekkoukan High School as a transfer student, take exams, build friendships, and work part-time jobs. Yet each night holds a secret. At midnight, an extra hour begins – the Dark Hour. During this time, ordinary people are sealed inside coffins, terrifying Shadows roam the streets, and the massive tower of Tartarus rises above the city.
By day, Persona 3 Reload plays like a life simulation, blending character growth, social interaction, and careful time management. During the Dark Hour, however, it fully embraces its JRPG roots. Battles are turn-based and fought with a party of up to four characters who summon manifestations of their inner selves known as Personas. The protagonist stands out as the only team member able to wield multiple Personas and switch between them at will. This flexibility enables a range of builds focused on magic, physical damage, or support abilities. Smart use of buffs, debuffs, and elemental weaknesses often determines the outcome of a fight.
In its review, German gaming site 4Players praised Persona 3 Reload for its gripping story, dynamic combat system, and seamless blend of life simulation and classic JRPG elements. The presentation also stood out, with modern visuals complemented by an atmospheric soundtrack. Criticism centered mainly on the Tartarus tower, whose many floors follow a similar structure and offer limited gameplay variety. Even so, 4Players awarded the game a strong final score of 9 out of 10.
On Metacritic, Persona 3 Reload holds a Metascore of 87 and a User Score of 8.6. The sentiment on Steam is even more positive, with 94% of more than 52,000 user reviews recommending the game.
