Epomaker shrinks gaming keyboard in half, offering 36 keys with Hall-effect switches

The trend for gaming keyboards has been toward increasingly compact designs for years. But while many gaming enthusiasts use 60 or 65% layouts, Epomaker is experimenting with a 30% keyboard with the HE30. In this case, 30% means that only 36 keys are available, i.e., the left half of a conventional keyboard.
This makes the HE30 less than ideal for typing or working, but all the more suitable for shooters, MOBA or strategy games, where 36 keys are more than enough. The advantage of this layout is that it leaves more space on the desk to use a gaming mouse with lower sensitivity, thus increasing precision in games. The keyboard does not have a battery or Bluetooth chip, so it can only be used wired, reaching a polling rate of 8,000 Hz via USB.
The keyboard features a plastic housing with an aluminum plate for increased stability. Hall-effect switches are designed for particularly fast key response, and the trigger point is also adjustable. RGB backlighting and PBT keycaps are standard. The 350-gram keyboard comes with a wrist strap for easy transport. Windows and Linux are officially supported, but not macOS.
