Steam Deck availability hit hard by RAM and storage crisis

Availability of the Steam Deck has been subject to extreme fluctuations lately. Valve has now officially confirmed that the company itself is experiencing supply chain issues, so the availability of the Steam Deck is no longer guaranteed. The company has stated that the Steam Deck OLED may be temporarily sold out in some regions due to shortages of both RAM and internal storage. At the time of writing, all models appear to be sold out in the US, but remain available in Australia and the UK. As for other regions, users can simply find out via the official product page here.
Furthermore, Valve has already confirmed that the entry-level Steam Deck with the LCD screen and 256 GB of storage is no longer in production and will be unavailable once stocks are depleted. There is one exception: Valve also offers refurbished units at certain price advantages. However, the availability of these refurbished devices can also change quite rapidly. Lastly, it remains unclear whether, when and at what price a potential successor to the Steam Deck will be released.
