Pocket Super Knob: New PS Vita-inspired retro handheld launching with daft controls and even dafter name

GameMT is preparing to launch another unusual handheld. To recap, the company released the E3 Vigor at the end of last year. Shortly before that, it launched the EX5 with PS Vita looks but an unusual controller layout.
Currently, the EX5 is nowhere to be seen. From the information that Retro Gaming with Deadfred has shared, that could be because GameMT has reworked the EX5 into a new device. Officially, GameMT has not confirmed as much. However, the Pocket Super Knob 5000 (PSK 5000) is the spitting image of the EX5 but with a slightly newer chipset.
Specifically, GameMT equips the PSK 500 with a MediaTek Helio G85 rather than the Helio G81 previously assigned to the EX5. For reference, both are 12 nm chipsets with two Cortex-A75 and six Cortex-A55 cores plus a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU. Ultimately, our time with the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 (curr. $190 on Amazon) indicates that the Helio G85 will struggle to hit 60 FPS in many 3D games.
To that end, the PSK 5000 may only be capable of emulating PSP games at 1080p, even with its performance mode enabled. For some reason, GameMT has included a performance toggle instead of a second joystick. Still, the handheld's sole joystick is Hall effect-based. Also, GameMT has sought to emulate the PS Vita's d-pad unlike the Anbernic RG Vita. The PSK 5000 will reportedly go on sale in April. Pricing remains unknown at this point, though.
