Steam users eagerly anticipate certain weeks each year. While discounts and free games are available year-round, the platform’s major sales stand out by offering a vast selection – often including top-tier AAA titles at steep discounts. The four biggest events coincide with the seasons, with the summer and winter sales usually lasting the longest. Beyond the price cuts, players can often pick up bonus items such as emotes, Steam wallpapers, or avatars, which can be redeemed using Steam Points.
Steam recently revealed the event schedule for the second half of the year, giving gamers the opportunity to mark all key dates in their calendars. The four major seasonal sales will take place during the following weeks:
- Spring Sale: March 19 – March 26, 2026
- Summer Sale: June 25 – July 9, 2026
- Autumn Sale: October 1 – October 8, 2026
- Winter Sale: December 17, 2026 – January 4, 2027
In addition to the four major seasonal sales, which feature discounts across nearly every genre, Steam hosts a variety of smaller themed events throughout the year that spotlight specific categories. For example, the Board Game Fest, which offers deals on a wide range of digital board games, kicks off on January 26. It is followed in early February by Typing Fest, which focuses on keyboard-based games. Another highlight is the Steam Next Fest, returning three times this year – in February, June, and October. Unlike other events, it does not focus on discounts but instead highlights free demos and developer previews of upcoming titles.
