The official Ubisoft X account has announced that an update is coming to Far Cry 3 Classic Edition. The update will bring 60 FPS gameplay to current gen consoles. The announcement was also shared by the official PlayStation YouTube account.
According to the video's description, the update will be available on January 21 on PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles. The game already runs at 60 FPS on the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, which is why no similar announcement was made by Xbox. However, PS4 owners have expressed their displeasure at not getting the 60 FPS update.
Far Cry 3 was originally released in November 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. As at late 2014, it had sold over 10 million copies.
While not available as a standalone purchase for the PS5 (available on Amazon for $549), it can be purchased as part of the Far Cry Anthology Bundle on the PlayStation Store. Originally priced at $149.99, the bundle, which also includes Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, and Far Cry 6, is currently available for $37.49. The deal is available until January 22.
