Two of the three Hyperpop controllers are already sold out at the German PlayStation Direct online store. Only the Rhythm Blue variant can still be preordered, while the Techno Red and Remix Green variants can no longer be added to the cart. This is relatively unusual for a design that does not follow a specific theme like a popular gaming franchise, which is the case with many special edition controllers.
It’s currently unclear if there will be a second round of preorders in regions where stock has already sold out, but Sony has done this from time to time. Even the very special 30th Anniversary controller became available again at the PlayStation Direct store several months later.
Also, there is still a chance to grab these new DualSense controllers for the PlayStation 5 (from $549 on Amazon) at participating retailers, some of which are also selling this new collection. At the time of writing, alle three color variants in the Hyperpop series are still available at Sony’s US online store.
That being said, there will likely be more restrictions regarding the console covers. According to Sony, the matching PS5 console covers will be available in limited quantities in select markets for $74.99. For now, these covers are still available at most PlayStation Direct stores.
