PlayStation markets DualSense controller for PC, despite rumored PS5 exclusive cancellations

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier revealed that Sony will be porting fewer single-player PS5 exclusive games to PC. That’s why fans are finding the timing of a new PlayStation Asia marketing campaign awkward. On social media, the company is promoting a DualSense PC controller bundle. It includes a USB-C cable, but some advertised features lack widespread support in Windows.
What's different about the new DualSense?
Previously, the stock PS5 controller did not ship with a cable for charging or to enable wired connectivity. Otherwise, the midnight black model is identical to the item already in stock at retailers.
Informed gamers are questioning why Sony would choose now to release this DualSense configuration. 0xOlaf says, “So you announced a PC controller on the same day you announced no more bringing exclusives to PC. Like who hired your marketing team?”
PlayStation has not officially confirmed the Bloomberg report. Even so, Schreier has an excellent reputation for predicting major industry trends. If his claims are correct, some PS5 exclusive games like Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei will no longer see PC ports.
Drawbacks of using the DualSense on PCs
Gaming PC owners may show more hesitation to invest in PS5 accessories. That said, Sony still plans to appease these players. Targeting a cross-platform audience, live-service multiplayer games like Marathon will continue to appear on Windows. Yet, perks such as adaptive triggers and haptic feedback were missing during the recent server slam.
Marathon highlights the other issue critics have with the DualSense PC controller bundle. Helldivers 2 is an SIE title that provides a similar experience to the PS5 without third-party software. However, players often have to resort to the Steam app to resolve issues with other games. In most cases, advanced haptics aren’t an option with a Bluetooth wireless connection.
Sony catered to desktop and laptop gamers when it added multiple device pairing in July 2025. The manufacturer has also announced Inzone keyboards, mice, and monitors aimed at gaming PCs. Regardless, with PS5 exclusives potentially dwindling, many buyers find its attitude toward the platform confusing.
