Vivo X300 Max rears its head at MWC 2026 before release

Vivo has focused on the upcoming X300 Ultra this week at MWC 2026 in Barcelona to the sting out of Samsung's recent Galaxy S26 Ultra release (curr. $1,299 on Amazon). While the company has refrained from sharing an official launch date yet, the X300 Ultra is expected to arrive in China later this month. Meanwhile, the Vivo X300 Ultra should receive a global release later this year.
Recent leaks also indicated that Vivo has been developing the X300 Max too, under the model number V2548A. Now, it seems that Vivo has been quietly showing the X300 Max at MWC 2026 as well. Officially, Vivo implied that a mystery phone being exhibited at MWC 2026 in relation to MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 was an existing X300 series model.
However, Roland Quandt has demonstrated otherwise. As far as we can tell, the device pictured by Han Bo Xiao is the same one that Quandt has posted about on Bluesky. The leaker has demonstrated that the mystery handset is V258A, which has already appeared on 3C's database with 90 W wired charging. Evidently, the X300 Max leverages the same Dimensity 9500 chipset as the X300 and X300 Pro, too.
The X300 Max also contains a different camera layout from the X300 or X300 Pro Max. Still featuring Zeiss T* lenses, Vivo has positioned two cameras on either side of this branding with a third above them. It is unclear whether these are joined by a fourth camera, though. Currently, the X300 Max is rumoured to feature a 1440p LTPO OLED display measuring 6.78-inches diagonally, as well as a circa 7,000 mAh battery.
