Vivo X300 Ultra brings professional stabilization to the new telephoto

The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona has closed its doors, but the unveiling of the Vivo X300 Ultra continues unabated in China. Once again, product manager Han Boxiao has shared news about the new Zeiss camera in the successor to the Vivo X200 Ultra which will also be launched on the European market for the first time. After yesterdays focus on the 1/1.12 inch 200 megapixel main camera with 35mm lens, Vivo today revealed news about the second 200-megapixel sensor in the Vivo X300 Ultra, the new and improved telephoto.
According to Vivo, this is based on a new Samsung sensor called HP0, which has been modified by Vivo and is apparently a close relative of the ISOCELL HPE. The fifth 200 MP sensor generation from Vivo/Samsung should deliver better results in the areas of colour fidelity, autofocus, HDR and dynamic range compared to the ISOCELL HPE, but above all set new standards in terms of stabilization, as Han Boxiao explains in detail on Weibo.
For the first time, Vivo has achieved the professional CIPA 7.0 level with the new telephoto module, a significant leap from CIPA 5.5 in the previous year. The optics, which can now stabilize by up to 3 degrees, is unique in the industry; in contrast, 0.7 to 1 degree is normal in the smartphone sector, almost tripling the 1.2 degrees in the Vivo X200 Ultra. This means that the stabilization works even with the new 4.7x telephoto extender at up to 1600 mm equivalent focal length. A demo of the flexible optics can be seen in video form below. Last but not least, Vivo promises motion tracking at 60 fps, not just the usual 30 fps for smartphones. So even tracking animals with the telephoto will no longer be a problem.
