Vivo X300 Ultra is outclassed by Galaxy S26 Ultra in these areas

The Vivo X300 Ultra represents a meaningful step up from the previous generation and deservedly earned the Top Rated Award. However, the uncompromising camera setup – featuring three extra-large sensors – appears to have come at a cost, likely as a result of the ongoing DRAM shortage.
Our testing revealed that the Vivo X300 Ultra falls short in two key areas, especially when compared to the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. For those considering the import route, the X300 Ultra can be had for significantly less than its international MSRP, with prices starting at around $1,100.
Audiophiles would be better off with Samsung's offering
A clear winner emerged when we compared the speaker quality of the Vivo X300 Ultra and Galaxy S26 Ultra. While Vivo’s flagship exhibits greater fluctuations in its pink noise profile, the Galaxy S26 Ultra delivers a more balanced sound. The X300 Ultra is particularly weak in the bass and super-tweeter ranges, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s speakers are also far less noisy.
So if you enjoy playing music through smartphone speakers, you’ll be better off with the Galaxy S26 Ultra thanks to its audibly more pronounced bass and higher clarity.
Vivo X300 Ultra runs much warmer than Galaxy S26 Ultra
The Vivo X300 Ultra can become very warm, reaching a peak temperature of nearly 55°C (131°F) in our testing. Even during everyday use, the device’s body gets noticeably hotter than other high-end phones. If you are sensitive to high temperatures around the SoC during long gaming sessions, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is a “cooler” alternative, with its surface temperatures exceeding 41°C (106°F) only in a few spots under load.
However, anyone assuming the Galaxy S26 Ultra handles throttling more effectively under sustained load may be disappointed: The Vivo X300 Ultra actually has an edge in this regard. Read our full review to find out by how much.
