Scuf Gaming has announced a new controller officially licensed for PS5 consoles. The Scuf Omega offers premium features, lots of customizable buttons, and compatibility with other platforms for slightly more than the price of the DualSense Edge.

Scuf Gaming, the Corsair subsidiary best known for its gaming accessories, has released a new controller for PlayStation 5 consoles. The new controller is called the Scuf Omega, and it offers premium features at a premium price.

The Scuf Omega is a wireless controller with similarities to the DualSense controller. It has symmetrical thumbsticks, a touchpad, a separated D-pad, action buttons with Omron mechanical switches, and a pair of shoulder buttons and triggers. However, it packs several features that are not available on the DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers.

The Scuf Omega controller has lots of additional buttons.

For starters, the thumbsticks are TMR sticks with non-contact magnetic sensing technology to reduce stick drift. The triggers are also adjustable and can be switched to Instant Triggers mode which is great for FPS games, or standard trigger mode, which is best-suited for racing and sports games.

In addition to the above, the Scuf Omega has two customizable side buttons (S1 and S2) positioned for quick access by the index fingers. There are also four rear paddles and five buttons called the G-Keys in between the two handles. Three of the G-Keys control audio including the microphone, while the other two are customizable.

The Scuf Omega comes with additional accessories including a case.

The Scuf Omega works with the Scuf Mobile app which can be used to create and manage profiles, customize buttons, and update the firmware. The controller is also compatible with PC, Android, and iOS, despite being licensed for PlayStation 5 consoles. When connected to a PC in wired or wireless mode, the controller has a 1,000Hz polling rate.

Pricing for the Scuf Omega starts at $219 and goes up to $239 depending on the color and finish (Scuf Gaming has 21 different designs for the new controller). For comparison, the DualSense Edge controller is available for $199 on Amazon. Included in the box of the Scuf Omega is the controller itself, a black carrying case, a braided USB-C to USB-A cable, a wireless dongle, three extra thumbsticks, and extra paddle buttons.
