Leak: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide gets two camera downgrades and one upgrade

According to rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide will be launched at the same time as the Galaxy Z Fold8 and is therefore likely to be officially announced in July or August. After the more compact folding flagship was already seen on high-resolution render images, GalaxyClub has now been able to find out more information about the built-in cameras.
According to this report, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide receives at least two serious downgrades compared to the Galaxy Z Fold7 ($1,699 on Amazon). Firstly, the 10 MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom has been removed. And secondly, the main camera uses a 50 megapixel sensor. It is not yet known whether the sensor is also smaller than the 200 MP 1/1.3 inch sensor of the Galaxy Z Fold7, but the lower resolution means that the camera has less potential for digital zoom - a real disadvantage for a smartphone that does not offer a telephoto camera.
Even the lens gets a downgrade, as it is said to have an aperture of f/1.8 instead of f/1.7 as on the Galaxy Z Fold7. At least Samsung is reportedly installing a better ultra-wide-angle camera that combines a 50 MP sensor with an f/1.9 lens - a significant upgrade compared to the 12 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera on Samsung's folding flagship from last year. It is still unclear whether the savings on the cameras will result in the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide being offered at a lower price than the larger Galaxy Z Fold8. GalaxyClub has also learned that the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide will be available in green.
