Galaxy Z Fold8, Fold8 Ultra prices leak for the US, and they're not cheap

A few days after a leak gave us an idea of how much Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z foldables could cost in Europe, we now have an idea of how much they'll go for in the US.

According to a report by the Korean outlet Sedaily, the Galaxy Z Fold8 will start at $1,899 in the US for the 256GB variant, while the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will reportedly cost $ 2,099, which is $100 more than the Galaxy Z Fold7 at launch. The report also noted that Samsung is still conducting a final review of its pricing plan ahead of launch, so the prices might change at launch. Both foldables are confirmed to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset.

The US report follows a European pricing leak from a few days ago. According to that report, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will start at €2,199 for 256GB. The 512GB version will cost €2,399, while the 1TB model will go for €2,799.

The wider Galaxy Z Fold8 will start at €1,999 for 256GB, rising to €2,199 for 512GB and €2,599 for the top 1TB configuration. The Galaxy Z Flip8 is expected to cost €1,299 for 256GB and €1,499 for 512GB. The same report said the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 with LTE will rise to €749, while the Galaxy Watch9 will start at €409 for the 40mm model and €459 for the 44mm version.

Separately, a Reddit user has recently posted a photo purportedly showing the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8 already on display at a Samsung retailer in South Korea. The photo reportedly shows the Galaxy Z Fold8 in a light blue finish, with the Z Fold8 Ultra and Z Flip8 shown in black. A black stripe was visible at the center of the Galaxy Z Fold8's hinge in the image.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 features a new form factor for Samsung, featuring a 5.4-inch cover display and a 7.8-inch foldable main display in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Compared with the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the smaller model is expected to have two rear cameras instead of three and a slightly smaller battery but otherwise shares similar specifications, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

The Korean giant is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8 at a Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22.
