Samsung hits reset on Instagram: All new Galaxy Unpacked videos take over

Some people are talking about the “Great Reset,” but don’t worry—it’s completely non political in this case. Within the Samsung ecosystem, the clean-up on Samsung's main two Instagram accounts (Samsung Mobile, Samsung Mobile USA) points to a fresh new start in preparation for the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked launch event in July. An exact date still has not been officially confirmed but as you probably know, the rumor mill has been buzzing about July 22 for months now.

Samsung's new Galaxy Z Fold8 form factor practically confirmed
In all of its new Instagram posts, Samsung is showing different variations of the same theme: a very elongated object is scaled down to roughly a 16:9 aspect ratio, whether it’s a chocolate bar or a puzzle. One video even reveals a wallpaper featuring the number 8—likely the clearest hint yet at a new form factor for the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (available here on Amazon US), which, however, comes with scaled down specs as recent leaks confirm. If you don’t have an Instagram account - Don't worry, we’ve embedded all six videos right here:
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the direct successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7
Since Samsung will be making a U-turn with the Galaxy Z Fold8 and adopting the design used by Apple for the iPhone Ultra (aka iPhone Fold), fans of the elongated foldable format will have to switch to the new Ultra model. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will carry the traditional Galaxy Z Fold design into the future, which will make it relatively easy for Samsung to raise prices accordingly. The likelihood of price increases for Samsung’s foldables was recently indicated not only by hints from industry sources, but also the launch prices of both the Vivo X Fold6 and the Honor Magic V6 which leave little hope for any other outcome.
