Major Samsung Galaxy Glasses leak shows gesture control, buttons, and more

It has been known for a while that Samsung and Google have been working on smart glasses in partnership with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. These smart glasses run on the Android XR platform with Samsung’s One UI XR interface, similar to how the Galaxy XR headset works. Now, a new leak has revealed some details about one of the collaborations, as well as the companion app.
The information comes from SammyGuru in collaboration with @evowizz. They apparently managed to get their hands on the Galaxy Glasses app, which revealed some functionality for the Warby Parker edition Galaxy Glasses. Starting with the app, it is a hub for monitoring and controlling the smart glasses. Once paired, they appear at the top of the home screen where there is an option to automatically import photos and videos captured with the glasses.
Some of the other settings include ‘Find my glasses’, ‘Read notifications aloud’, ‘AI assistants’, and more. Going deeper or accessing advanced settings wasn’t possible without an active Galaxy Glass connection.
Furthermore, Samsung will be making the ecosystem more seamless with Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring integration. There will be a dedicated Galaxy Glasses Controller app for Galaxy Watches, and the Galaxy Ring will be able to control the glasses through gestures.

Additionally, a series of short walkthrough videos shows how gesture controls and buttons on the Warby Parker edition Galaxy Glasses work. There is a touchpad on the right temple that allows switching songs with one-finger swipe gestures, adjusting volume with two-finger swipes, and play/pause/answering calls with a tap. There is a physical camera button on the right temple for taking photos with a single press and taking videos with a press and hold. There are LED indicators on both the inside and outside of the frame for letting you and others know that the camera is being used.
The captured photos and videos will show up in the Now Bar on Galaxy phones. The charging case also has an LED for battery level and pairing status. That’s about all the information shared by the publication.
Samsung is expected to unveil its smart glasses this fall, and they could be part of the Galaxy Unpacked event reportedly scheduled for July 22.
