All Samsung Galaxy S27 flagships with exclusive Galaxy S26 Ultra feature according to industry report

Despite criticism of reduced display quality due to the Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra (available here on Amazon US), the exclusive feature appears to be quite popular worldwide. This explains why not only Samsung but also Chinese smartphone manufacturers such as Xiaomi and Huawei plan to offer alternative solutions soon, as a recent report from South Korea suggests. According to the report which is based on industry sources, all four 2027 Galaxy S27 models will be equipped with Flex Magic Pixel AMOLED panels
They serve as the base for the software-activated and controlled Privacy Display feature since they can artificially restrict the viewing angle as desired. Once the feature is enabled in the settings, only the person looking directly at the display can see its content. From the side however, the display appears black or heavily dimmed, depending on the settings.
According to the report, Chinese manufacturers are partly relying on different strategies. While Huawei is apparently working on a hardware solution that differs from Samung's technology, Xiaomi’s approach will reportedly be a purely software-based solution that works in conjunction with the operating system. Earlier indications had already pointed to a Privacy Display feature in the Xiaomi 18 series, which is likely to be launched along with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 at the end of September.
