First Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra cases reveal new details of the revamped camera design

In early 2027, Samsung will surprise us with at least two completely revamped Galaxy S27 flagships, although many more details will likely leak by then. It is already relatively certain that there will be two new top models called the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro, both of which are expected to get a redesign with a wide camera island similar to the Apple iPhone 18 Pro (Max). Following the first CAD models, visualized renders already revealed the basic design of the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro, but there could still be changes to the details, as suggested by protective cases which recently surface on X.

The hands-on images shared by Ice Universe confirm the basic camera layout with two larger lenses on the left and an oval cutout for another camera, sensors, and an LED flash to their right. However, one of the two cases suggests that the third camera will be positioned above the LED flash rather than below it, meaning that the previous renders could still be inaccurate. The exact position of the laser autofocus sensor is also not yet known, Ice Universe writes on X.

Compared with the Galaxy S26 Ultra quite a few things will change for Samsung's flagship in 2027. Aside from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, the 200-megapixel sensor behind the main camera is expected to be upgraded to a new model, with the main camera also working as a 3x telephoto replacement in the future. While the 5x telephoto and probably the ultrawide camera are expected to remain unchanged, observers currently anticipate a new 16-megapixel front camera. Also, there will likely be a very important display upgrade featuring new OLED material that is already being used by competitors. Last but not least, Samsung is finally expected to improve the battery specifications.
