Samsung's S27 series is expected to get its largest battery capacity jump since the S20 Ultra (pictured here).
Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro are expected to get major battery upgrades, with certification records pointing to typical capacities of about 5,700mAh and 5,200mAh, respectively. This would mark the most significant battery upgrade since the S20.

If the latest information proves true, Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Ultra will finally get its first major battery-capacity increase in several generations. Certification listings posted by China's 3C (China Compulsory Certification) show a Samsung SDI cell rated at 5,534 mAh (model EB-BS958DBY), which would translate to roughly typical capacity of 5,700mAh. This would represent about a 14% increase over the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 5,000mAh battery and finally move beyond the capacity that Samsung has maintained since the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

The Galaxy S27 Pro is also reportedly getting a substantial increase. Its battery is rated at 5,087mAh, corresponding to a typical capacity of around 5,200mAh. For comparison, the Galaxy S26 has a 4,300mAh battery, although the Pro and S26 are not directly equivalent models. Both new batteries will reportedly come with 60W wired charging, according to earlier certification listings.

The figures are still based on leaked certification records rather than Samsung’s official specifications. Given Samsung’s increasing adoption of silicon-carbon battery technology, especially in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, these certification listings are certainly plausible. While earlier rumors have suggested substantially larger capacities, there is more agreement on the modest 5,534mAh figure for the Ultra. Again, Samsung is yet to officially announce the Galaxy S27 series or confirm these specifications.
