Xiaomi 18 Pro (Max): Global Leica camera flagships confirmed, but with smaller batteries
A few hours ago, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 18 Pro generation in China, consisting of the 6.4-inch Xiaomi 18 Pro and the 6.9-inch Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, but not the regular Xiaomi 18, which will probably follow sometime toward the end of this year. The change in strategy also affects Xiaomi fans worldwide in a positive way. After years without global Pro models, both Leica camera flagships will also launch outside China, although perhaps not in every region.
At least it is now certain that there will be a global Xiaomi 18 Pro and a global Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Both have been discovered in HyperOS code, which Kacper Skrzypek revealed today. Unfortunately, Xiaomi is sticking to its usual policy by equipping the global models with batteries that are significantly smaller. Specifically, the international Xiaomi 18 Pro (2609BPN61G) will only offer a 6,000 mAh battery instead of the 7,000 mAh battery installed in China, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max (2611FPNFAG) sees its battery capacity reduced from 8,500 mAh to 7,050 mAh.
Global launch date this year
At least the fast-charging speed remains nearly the same at a maximum of 90/100 watts. So far Xiaomi has not confirmed a global launch date, however, during the Snapdragon Summit, Xiaomi did confirm that a global launch will happen this year:

Meanwhile Xiaomi Global has also started teasing a global Xiaomi 18 Pro launch, featuring the starry blue model, which can therefore be expected to be available outside China. There may be regional differences though.
