Samsung's Galaxy S26 series is now getting stable One UI 9 in the US

The global rollout of Samsung's stable One UI 9 update for the Galaxy S26 series has been notably erratic over the past week. After an initial debut in South Korea, the broader release appeared to hit an unexpected snag.

A regional rollout previously scheduled for September 21 was quietly pushed back to September 28 by Samsung's Thailand newsroom before specific calendar dates were removed entirely in favor of a vague September window. This delay fuelled speculation that Samsung had paused the release to address potential bugs or performance issues discovered during the initial deployment.

Despite the apparent international delays, the update has unexpectedly started arriving for users in the US. Galaxy S26 Ultra owners on the T-Mobile network are now reporting the arrival of the stable Android 17-based One UI 9 update on their devices. The software package comes in at approximately 4.1GB and includes the September 2026 security patch. While the rollout has been confirmed for T-Mobile variants, it remains unclear if the update is simultaneously reaching unlocked models or devices tied to other major carriers.

This US launch adds another layer of unpredictability to Samsung's One UI 9 release strategy. Historically, major OS updates follow a more structured, staggered regional rollout rather than deploying sporadically in specific markets following an apparent delay elsewhere.
