Samsung delays One UI 9 rollout for the Galaxy S26 series

The global rollout of Samsung's stable One UI 9 update for the Galaxy S26 series appears to have encountered an unexpected delay.

While the highly anticipated software update began rolling out to users in South Korea a few days ago, international device owners were expecting the update to arrive on September 21, based on an earlier announcement from Samsung's Thailand Newsroom. However, that date has now passed, and Samsung has quietly modified its schedule.

According to the updated information spotted on the regional newsroom page, the rollout for the Galaxy S26 series has been pushed back by a full week to September 28. This revised timeline places Samsung's latest flagship lineup on the same update schedule as the older Galaxy S25 series and the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which were already slated to receive One UI 9 on that date. However, at the time of writing this article, Samsung Thailand has completely removed any specific date, with the press release now vaguely stating that the update will be released within September.

Samsung has not issued an official statement explaining the sudden schedule change, leaving it unclear whether the delay is exclusive to the Thai market or indicative of a broader global postponement.

The delay is particularly notable because regional rollouts typically follow shortly after the initial Korean release. The extended gap has led to speculation that Samsung's development team may have identified last-minute bugs or performance issues that required a fix before pushing the software to millions of additional devices.
