The Xiaomi 18 launch date is practically confirmed now that Qualcomm has officially announced their dates for the Snapdragon Summit.
Qualcomm has confirmed when the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and the highly anticipated variants of the new 2nm flagship chips will be officially unveiled. As usual the annual Snapdragon Summit will take place in sunny Hawaii while Xiaomi is expected to unveil their new Xiaomi 18 Pro generation at roughly the same time.

It happens around the same time as last year: Qualcomm officially confirmed today when the next big wave of news out of the Snapdragon universe will be unveiled.  The company is hosting their annual event in Maui, Hawaii and will unveil a host of new products for Android smartphones—and potentially other product categories—between September 22, 2026 and September 24, 2026.

Xiaomi 18 to launch parallel to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6

While Qualcomm may also showcase new products for smart glasses or Snapdragon laptops, the spotlight in China is already on the first flagship smartphone based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. According to Kartikey Singh , the Xiaomi 18 series launch in China will be parallel to the Snapdragon Summit —possibly right after Qualcomm CEO Christiano Amon’s keynote on September 22. While the Qualcomm event is already official, the Xiaomi 18 launch date remains unconfirmed for now; however, Xiaomi has traditionally been the first manufacturer to feature the latest Snapdragon chips.

In the past, global Xiaomi fans had to wait months for new releases from China, but in 2026 things could move much faster. Even a global Xiaomi 18 Pro launch has been rumored. A key new feature in 2026 will be the Leica camera, which apparently features two 200-megapixel sensors in all of the Xiaomi 18 models. Meanwhile, leakers are signalling greater diversification in Qualcom's high-end segment. In addition to the 2nm chips, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, there will likely be plenty of other variants for new “ Android ” flagships, some of which will still be based on the 3nm process.
